April 2026: finmid, the embedded finance infrastructure provider, has partnered with efood, Greece's food delivery platform and Delivery Hero brand, to launch efood Capital – a financing program that gives efood partner businesses direct access to growth capital.
Through efood Capital, the platform’s 21,000 partner stores across 100 Greek cities can benefit from immediate access to up to €30,000 in financing capital. It offers eligible entrepreneurs access to the funds needed to grow their businesses and can be used for a variety of costs such as expanding business activities, purchasing or upgrading equipment, covering renovation costs, marketing expenses, working capital, or even opening new locations.
Through an easy, fast, and fully digital process – powered by finmid – partners can complete the application, get approved and receive the funds within just 48 hours. Businesses are evaluated based on their sales on the efood platform, among other data, and are given a repayment period of up to 12 months.
Businesses pay a fixed fee for financing, which remains unchanged throughout the duration of the program, ensuring full transparency for entrepreneurs regarding all costs. In addition, repayments for efood Capital are automated and depend entirely on the business’s activity and sales performance on efood. The capital is repaid as a percentage of their sales on the platform.
Accelerating growth
efood Capital was created to provide all efood partners with the opportunity for fast and direct funding, without time-consuming procedures, helping them support and accelerate their growth.
Since the launch of the program six months ago, it has already provided financing to 221 businesses in Greece, with a total value of over €2 million.
It is the latest platform to join finmid’s growing partner base. Since launching in 2021, finmid has built a new category of infrastructure that routes capital through platforms using real-time data – replacing outdated, slow bank lending across Europe’s 30 markets.
It has extended offers to more than 150,000 businesses and powers major platform players. Platforms using finmid see a 45% uplift in customer sales, on average, and 70% reduction in churn making finmid a key competitive advantage.
“efood Capital is a strong example of what embedded finance can do for small and independent businesses. Restaurant and retail owners on the efood platform can now access meaningful capital in under 48 hours, based on the data they are already generating on the platform. This is exactly the kind of programme finmid was built to power, and Greece is a market where we’re seeing increased appetite for this model.”
Max Schertel, Co-founder of finmid
“efood works with a very broad network of partner stores which together with our users form key elements of our ecosystem. The ability to provide financing contributes to the growth of the stores we collaborate with, expands efood’s role, and positions us as an organization that actively participates in the evolution of the market.”
Konstantinos Akrivos, CFO of efood
